Denver has undergone something of a beer revolution in recent times, with the number of local breweries more than tripling in the last six years. With restaurants and bars serving more local craft beer than ever before, it’s a great time to be a beer drinker in Colorado.

1. Ratio Beerworks

Stalwarts of the Denver alternative scene, the people behind Ratio Beerworks bring their passion to this exciting micro-brewery. The buzzing, modern taproom serves up an adventurous range of beers, from West Coast IPAs to a chocolate rye Scotch Ale, and a tart French Saison.

2. Blue Moon Brewing Company

The local brewing company that became a global brand with their Belgian-style witbier, Blue Moon continues to create fresh and exciting flavors. The brewery taproom offers a chance to sample the latest brews and more than 20 rotating beers, including a Kolsch, blood orange pale ale, and the session IPA.

3. Denver Beer Co

The no-nonsense name sums up the approach at this popular small-batch brewery, devoted to creating excellent beer. They have four outlets around the city, but the Platte Street taproom boasts a German-style beer garden, perfect for enjoying a fresh brew in the summer. This small but skillful operation means that some beers are limited release—the oak-aged Rye Pale Ale and rich India Black Ale are just two of their seasonal brews.

4. Recess Beer Garden

Recess is a vibrant spot celebrating American beer, where mainstream meets independent.  You’ll find everything from original Coors to the latest hop bomb IPAs here. Happy hours and a menu that includes the house wings and some health-conscious salads help Recess cover all bases.

5. First Draft Taproom and Kitchen

7. Falling Rock Taphouse

One of the pioneers in promoting craft beers in Denver, the Falling Rock offers more than 75 beers on tap and over 130 bottled varieties. 8. 10 Barrel Brewing

They have a few more barrels these days, but this innovative craft brewery continues to come up with fresh ideas. Their latest spacious brewpub offers 22 fresh brews on tap, views into the brew area, and a rooftop patio. It’s the perfect hangout for beer aficionados and potential converts to the cause.

9. Finn’s Manor

A hip and happening beer and cocktail bar, with a busy food truck hub, Finn’s Manor offers 16 rotating taps showcasing some fine local brews and some impressive Belgian imports. There’s a laid-back, New Orleans speakeasy vibe that features a cool soundtrack for your leisurely beer-drinking.

10. Vine Street Pub & Brewery
