Reducing DUIs at the Delaware Beaches
Lindsey

In Delaware, alcohol-related motor vehicle deaths exceed the national average by 15%, according to the CDC. In an effort to raise awareness about the dangers of drinking and driving, we’re setting up our Uber breathalyzer kiosk down at the Delaware beaches during Memorial Day Weekend — a time when people around the country celebrate the beginning of summer by hitting the beach and local haunts.

At Uber, we’re changing the way people think about drinking and driving. Cities that have Uber have seen a 3.6%-5.6% decrease in the number of people killed in cars due to alcohol, according to a 2015 study by Temple University. By providing a reliable ride at the tap of a button — no matter the time or place — Uber is empowering people to make better, safer choices.

This weekend, keep a look out for the Uber breathalyzer kiosk at the Rehoboth Ale House, as we encourage Delawareans to opt for a safe ride home.
