For quite some time already we have been present in three beautiful Polish locations. We’ve recently celebrated our first anniversary in Warsaw, Cracow has been with us since April and Trójmiasto’s 6 month celebration is coming up soon.

The time has come to add two new cities to our Polish family: Poznań and Wrocław. Welcome!

Today (Thursday 11/5/2015) at 7am we launched both cities and the first rides have already taken place. For the duration of the entire weekend, rides in Wrocław and Poznań will be… free! 

The first rider to travel with Uber in Wrocław was Michał Sadowski, founder and CEO of Brand24 and author of the bestseller “Rewolucja Social Media“. Sadek shared some of his stories from Uber trips around the world, after which he ordered the first Uber ride in Wrocław. After a couple of minutes, he was on his way to the office, where he had meetings to attend to.

The first ride in Poznań goes to Maciej Mazurek, the author of both zuchrysuje.pl and zuchpisze.pl. Maciej ordered an Uber and took a ride to his favorite café Stragan (with a short pitstop at a boardgames shop to return an expansion pack for Settlers of Catan).

AWESOME! HOW DO I ORDER AN UBER?

  • Open the Uber app on your smartphone, mark your location by dropping the pin or entering your address and order your ride – within minutes your driver will arrive at your location – until this upcoming Sunday, he’ll of course take you for free!
  • At any given moment you can check where your driver is – we will let you know when he will be arriving to your location.
  • Don’t worry about cash – all payments are done automatically through your credit card assigned to your Uber account. When you finish your ride, you will receive an email with your trip summary within seconds.
  • Travelling with friends? You can always share your ride with Uber through the app and split the costs.

During our free weekend you’ll have the chance to win some prizes! All you have to do is take a photo during your free ride in Wrocław or Poznań, add our hashtag #UberMojeMiasto and post it on our Facebook or Instagram.

HOW MUCH DOES THIS COST?

Uber prices are calculated based on the ride time and distance. For more details on prices visit our dedicated webpages for Wrocław and for Poznań. Remember that you can always estimate your fare before ordering a ride in the app.

  • The free weekend promotion will be automatically added to users’ accounts in Poznań and Wrocław. Each user can take a maximum of 5 free rides worth up to 50 PLN each as part of the free weekend. The promotion is valid until midnight, this upcoming Sunday (11/8/2015).
  • we expect high demand for the first few weeks of our presence in Poznań and Wrocław. If you’re not able to catch a ride, try again after a short period of time.
