UberPool matches you with riders heading in the same direction, so you can share the ride and cost.
Open the Uber app and enter your destination in the "Where to?" box. Tap the UberPool ride option at the bottom of your screen. Then tap Confirm UberPool. You can request a Pool for up to 2 people.
You’ll see the time until your driver arrives, as well as the estimated window of time to arrive at your destination.
Look at the map in the Uber app as you walk to your pickup spot. Be at the curb before your driver arrives to make sure no one in your car is kept waiting.
We’ll match your car with other riders heading your way. This is how we can offer you a low price, so expect additional pickups and/or dropoffs along your trip.
Simply exit the car when you reach your destination. We’ll automatically charge the fare to the payment method you have on file. If your trip was 5 stars, consider tipping your driver in the app after your trip.
Sample rider prices are estimates only and do not reflect variations due to discounts, traffic delays, or other factors. Flat rates and minimum fees may apply. Actual prices may vary.
We’ll look for riders along your route to fill empty seats in the car. Greet your co-riders with a smile—together, you’re saving money.
With extra riders, it may take a little longer to get there, but you’ll always see your estimated arrival time in the app. If you’re in a rush, try UberX.
When you time your ride right, UberPool can be magical. Be at the curb ready to go before your driver arrives to make sure no one in your car is kept waiting.
Once your UberPool trip starts, your destination is set and locked. This helps us figure out who else to pick up and the best route to take.
You can ride UberPool with a friend, but if you’re riding with more than 2 people or extra luggage, it’s best to request UberX or UberXL.
It depends on the space in the car and number of riders. If you’re traveling with luggage, we recommend trying UberX.
It’s a party! UberPool only allows 2 per request, but you can use UberX or UberXL for larger groups.
On average, riding with UberPool only adds a few minutes to your overall trip time. We’ll always show your estimated arrival time in the app as you ride.
Pickup and dropoff order is determined by where your destination falls along the route, not the order of who was picked up first.
Riders can hop in and out during your trip. If all empty seats are filled, we’ll stop looking for extra riders. Additionally, we’ll stop looking for extra riders to make sure you meet your arrival time.
Though some pickups and dropoffs may be slightly out of the way, we’ll always do our best to make sure you arrive by the time shown in the app.
