We know 2020 has been a difficult year, and that being apart from friends and family during the holidays is especially challenging. As stay-at-home orders and social distancing continue during the holiday season, we want to help you find ways to connect and share the giving spirit with your loved ones.

That’s why we’re rolling out Uber Connect – our package delivery service – to 2400+ new U.S. cities and towns starting today. We originally introduced the product in April, and have since designed a new end-to-end experience for more seamless Secret Santa gifting and sharing homemade treats to a loved one across town.

There’s no doubt this season’s greetings will be unlike any other, which is why Connect can help deliver holiday cheer even if we’re apart. This cost-effective, same-day delivery feature keeps local communities connected, thanks to significant updates including:

  • ‘Receive a package’ delivery option: In addition to sending packages, users can now receive or request for a package. When you need to borrow hardware to hang your holiday lights, simply place the request with the ‘Receive a package’ feature.
  • A more accessible, updated booking experience that saves you time: We’ve made it super simple to access the product when you first open the redesigned Uber app, along with clearer instructions that save you time when you’re ready to send – or receive – a package.
  • Improved package tracking that delivers peace of mind: In the Uber app, Connect senders and recipients can track where a package is and when it will arrive.
  • Enhanced driver and recipient communication: Delivery providers can now contact the recipient at the time of drop off. And if you’ve requested an item from someone else, the driver can contact that person too at the time of pickup.

Lastly, Connect was built to provide a contactless experience. Customers simply meet their delivery person at the curb after a request is booked, carefully deposit their delivery items in the vehicle, and track the package as they would an Uber trip.

Uber Connect is currently available in thousands of cities around the world, and some new U.S. locations include:
