Uber and Public Transit: Working Hand in Hand in Miami-Dade
Written byThree months ago, Miami became the eighth U.S. city to launch uberPOOL. By matching riders who are traveling along similar routes at the same time, uberPOOL makes riding in Miami more affordable than ever. As transportation becomes more inexpensive and reliable, it becomes easier to consider leaving your car at home – reducing congestion and transforming the way people get around Miami-Dade.
In just the 3 months since we launched uberPOOL, riders sharing their trips have saved 524,000 miles of driving – more than the distance to the moon and back! That translates into 10,480 gallons of fuel saved and over 1,100 kilograms of CO2 emissions prevented.

But uberPOOL is only a part of the solution to taking cars off the road. For many residents, public transportation is a key part of their daily commutes.
The first and last mile of that commute – how you get to and from the bus or metrorail station – remain a challenge.
We are proud to announce that starting today, uberPOOL is available at Metrorail stops from Earlington Heights to Dadeland South Station.
With uberPOOL available from even more Metrorail stops, it’s easier and more affordable than ever to take public transportation
We are proud to make it more convenient and affordable to ride with existing transit options in Miami-Dade – and to make sure you have safe, reliable transportation in the year ahead.
