Button to call the local authorities
Easily call local authorities in case of emergencies. The app displays your location and trip details, so you can quickly share them with authorities. Additionally, Uber will receive an alert to follow up on the incident.

Real-time identification
People who drive with Uber are periodically asked to take a selfie, which we match against their on-file identification to help ensure that the right driver is behind the wheel.
Inappropriate message detection
Messages sent thought the app that may be considered offensive or threaten the integrity of a person will be submitted to a process where the original account can be permanently disabled.
Insurance on every trip
Uber protects you on every trip with AXA insurance. The coverage includes medical expenses in case of an accident or, in more severe cases, permanent disability coverage, among other coverages that ensure your protection.
Verify Your Ride
An optional feature to recieve 4-digit PIN to provide to your driver verbally to help ensure your entering the correct vehicle. The driver can only start the ride in the app with the correct pin.
Emergency Contacts
Create an emergency contact list within the Uber app. In the case of a serious incident, if support is unable to reach you, they will reach out to the Emergency Contact.
Anonymous communications
You can call or text the driver through the app from their device with phone number anonymization technology to communicate essential trip details without sharing personal information.
Audio Recording
If you feel uncomfortable, you can record the audio of the trip within the app. Just tap the blue shield to open your Safety Center and access the Record Audio option.
Advanced Privacy
Gain greater control over your data by visiting Uber’s Privacy Center to understand and manage your data and adjust privacy settings.
Cashless Payments
Enter your credit card information in the Uber app for quick and easy payments, and avoid handling cash.
Guest Rides
Request rides behalf of a guest by entering the person's name and trip details directly in the Uber app. Once the trip is accepted, the app will display the guest's trip details to the driver for greater transparency.
Insurance on every trip
In addition to the local regulatory insurance policy that drivers are required to have (if required by law), we partnered with AXA Mexico to maintain insurance coverage on every trip.
