We introduce the Airport Queue system to increase the efficiency for our partners to receive requests. This method can assure driver-partners will receive the request on a first come, first served basis (see exceptions at note 1). Say no more to unfair waiting line at the airport.

How does Airport Queue work?

You will automatically join a virtual queue once you enter the specific airport area (see the figure below). The line is first in first out (see exceptions at note 1). When a rider requests a ride, the partner who has been waiting the longest and is in the area will receive the request first (see exceptions at note 1), followed by the second partner, and so on. If you go offline, turn off your mobile phone, leave the specific area or repeatedly reject or cancel any dispatch when you are in the queue, you will be dequeued by the system automatically (see details at note 1).

What is the ‘Airport Queue’ dispatch experience?

  1. Enter the specific airport area and you will automatically join a virtual queue as usual to begin waiting for dispatches.
  2. Based on real‑time demand, the system will direct some driver-partners in the front of the queue to designated Car Parks to wait for trip requests. The assigned driver-partners will receive an in-app notification.
  3. Once you receive the in‑app notification, tap Accept and proceed to Car Park 1 or Car Park 4 as directed, then wait in an available parking lot for your trip request.
  4. After accepting a trip request, head to the pickup point to meet your rider(s).

Rest assured—if a driver-partner is assigned to wait in the designated Car Park and the acceptance time of trip request exceeded the specified time limit* that require additional airport parking fees, Uber will provide reimbursement for the airport car park fees.

*Specified time limit:

Car Park 1: 1 hour

Car Park 4: 30 minutes

Please note:

  1.  If you don’t receive any notification directing you to wait at the designated Car Parks, you don’t have to enter Car Park 1 or Car Park 4. You can continue waiting within the specific airport area in order to stay in the virtual queue.
  2. Reimbursement of the airport carpark fee will only be given to driver-partners who have completed pickup trips that start at the designated airport Car Park 1 and Car Park 4 pickup areas. Drop off trips or pickup trips that start at other airport areas are not eligible to receive the reimbursement.

To check your position in the queue

  1. Your position in the queue will be displayed on top of the screen once you enter the specific airport area
  2. You can request to see the number of drivers waiting in the queue by clicking the plane icon when you are not in the specific airport area.

Received a short trip request to go l to Chek Lap Kok?

Don’t worry! You will be automatically ranked first in the queueing system once you complete the ride in Chek Lap Kok.

There are separate queues for Black and UberX vehicles. Drivers’ vehicles that can offer both ride options to the riders will be allocated to the shorter queue.

Note 1: For better experience for all users , if a driver partner is continuously idle, repeatedly rejecting trips and/or canceling accepted trips while at the front of the virtual airport queue, the system may assume the driver partner is not ready to take  trips or has forgotten to log out, and may, after  providing reminders,  automatically push the driver partner offline and/or move him or her to the back of the airport queue. A driver partner who has been pushed offline can go back online anytime to receive trip requests.

How to pick up riders in Airport?

Riders may choose one of the below spots as their desired pickup location (Pickup locations may vary depending on the riders’ requests):

  • Regal Airport Hotel Hong Kong (next to bus stop) or
  • 2/F, Multi-Storey Car Park 4 or
  • Car Park 1

Car Park 4 provides a 30-minute complimentary parking to any vehicles once within a 24-hour period. If any vehicles enter the Car Parks for pickups and are being charged for Car Park fee, the system will automatically issue a reimbursement** for each of the eligible trips*.

* Uber’s payment of the airport car park fee as referred to above does not apply to Metered taxi trips.

** Any payment by Uber of the airport car park fee as referred to above is at Uber’s sole discretion out of goodwill. Uber retains the right to cancel such payment and amend the relevant criteria, amount and process.

Starting from May 1 2025, driver-partners are eligible to receive reimbursement of airport car park fees of up to HK$169 daily (maximum 3 airport pickup trips per day for each of the specified pickup areas) subject to the T&Cs of the latest airport car park fee scheme.

Time frame of eligible airport trips:

  • From 4:00 am daily to 3:59 am the next day

Calculation of reimbursement amount: 

Pickup from Airport Carpark 1:

  • Up to HK$105 in total upon completion of the 3rd trip
  • Up to an extra HK$35 upon completion of the 2nd trip
  • Up to HK$35 upon completion of the 1st trip

Pickup from the 2nd floor in Airport Car Park 4:

  • Up to HK$64 in total upon completion of the 3rd trip
  • Up to HK$32 upon completion of the 2nd trip 

Driver-partners will be able to track the details of any reimbursement on the Opportunities page in-app.

Please note that reimbursement of the airport carpark fee will only be given to driver-partners who have completed pickup trips that start at the designated airport Car Park 1 and Car Park 4 pickup areas. Drop off trips or pickup trips that start at other airport areas are not eligible to receive the reimbursement.

Terms & Conditions 

  • This reimbursement of airport carpark fee promotion applies only to pickup trips that start at the designated airport Car Park 1 and Car Park 4 pickup areas. Drop off trips or pickup trips that start at other airport areas are not eligible to receive the reimbursement.
  • Uber Taxi trips and Metered taxi trips are also excluded from this promotion.
  • The total daily reimbursable amount is up to and not exceeding HK$169 per day, and is calculated upon the completion of up to a maximum of three (3) eligible airport pickup trips per day for each of the specified pickup areas (i.e airport Car Park 1 and Car Park 4 pickup areas). Eligible trips completed per day are calculated with reference to pickup trips at the designated pickup areas that start between a time frame from 4:00 am daily to 3:59 am the next day.
  • Any payment made by Uber under this promotion is granted at Uber’s sole discretion out of goodwill. Uber reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel any such payment and/or to vary or amend the relevant terms & conditions of this promotion without further prior notice.
  • All amounts are in Hong Kong dollars.
  • If either the rider or the driver-partner cancels a trip, the canceled trip will not be counted as a completed trip under this promotion.
  • Information about this reimbursement promotion could be viewed under the “Opportunities” page in the Uber driver app.
  • The reimbursement amount will be paid to the eligible driver-partners in the next payment cycle.
  • Uber reserves the right to cancel a driver-partner’s eligibility to participate in this promotion or to deduct any reimbursement amount already paid in the case of any fraud, illegality or breach of any applicable rules and regulations by the driver-partner.
  • Uber reserves the right of final decision in case of any disputes or controversy.
  • For the avoidance of doubt, the driver-partner retains the full discretion to decide whether or not to participate in this promotion or to accept and/or complete the relevant trips.
  • In case of any discrepancy between the English and Chinese versions of these terms and conditions, the English version shall prevail.
