Safety and respect for all

Uber's Community Guidelines

Our guidelines were developed to help make every experience feel safe, respectful and positive.

Everyone who uses the Uber platform in the United Kingdom, including drivers, riders, couriers, Uber Eats users, Uber Eats merchants, and businesses, are expected to follow the guidelines.¹ ²

We update our guidelines from time to time to help make sure everybody in the Uber community always feels safe and welcome.

Treat everyone with respect

The guidelines in this section help foster positive interactions within our diverse community during every experience.

Help keep each other safe

Our team works every day to help create safer experiences for everyone. That's why these standards were written.

Follow the law

We're committed to following the law and earning your trust. We expect everyone who uses the Uber Platform to do their part and adhere to applicable laws and regulations.

Additional guidelines for Uber Eats

In addition to following all of Uber's Community Guidelines, Uber Eats users must follow certain standards for Uber Eats orders and deliveries.

The power of your choices

Millions of people have great experiences with Uber every day. These positive interactions help define who we are. Thank you for choosing to help make Uber a safe and welcoming community.

Your feedback matters

If something happens, whether it's good or bad, we make it easy for you to tell us. Our team is continuously improving our standards, and your feedback is important so that we can take appropriate action to keep our standards relevant as our technology evolves.

How to find help

If you want to report an incident, visit the Help Centre or tap Help in the app so that our Support team can follow up. If you find yourself in immediate danger, alert your local authorities or emergency services before notifying Uber.

How ratings work

Drivers, riders, couriers, Uber Eats users, and merchants have the option to give ratings to other users, as well as give feedback on how the trip or delivery went. This feedback system improves accountability and helps create a respectful, safe and transparent environment for everyone.

How our guidelines apply to you

Uber reviews reports submitted to our customer support team that may violate our Community Guidelines, and we may investigate through a specialised team. Your account may be put on hold until our review is complete. Not following any one of our guidelines may result in the loss of access to all or part of the Uber platform.

This page is meant as a resource to summarise Uber's Community Guidelines for the United Kingdom. To read our Community Guidelines for the United Kingdom in detail, go here. Riders and users can access terms of use for Uber and Uber Eats here and terms of service for Lime micromobility here. Drivers and couriers can access their legal agreement with Uber here.

Not following any one of our Community Guidelines may result in the loss of access to all or part of the Uber platform. This may include certain actions you may take outside of the platform that we become aware of, including but not limited to information from other platforms or local regulators, when such conduct may threaten the safety of the Uber platform and its users.

¹Our guidelines sometimes also apply to conduct outside the Uber platform that we become aware of, such as information from other platforms, when such conduct may threaten the safety of the Uber platform.

²Please note that drivers and couriers are not agents or employees of Uber and do not have legal authority from Uber.
