Now available in Paris in the Uber app: a new way to get around with 100% electric mopeds.
The only app you need to move through Paris
No need to download another app. You can now find Cityscoot e-mopeds, in addition to rideshare, JUMP e-bicycles and scooters all in the Uber app. Simply open the latest version of your Uber app, tap the blue Cityscoot e-moped icon on the map and you’re off.
100% electric
These mopeds are 100% electric and dockless.
Safety
Every Cityscoot includes a helmet for a safe ride kept inside the seat. Your ride will be covered by the insurance leader Allianz.
Book a moped in just a few taps
Tap on one of the available mopeds near you from the main map and follow the instructions.
A few documents will be required from you to set up your Cityscoot profile. Once these documents have been added, tap on ‘Reserve moped’ and follow the instructions in-app to start your trip.
How to ride with Cityscoot?
Cityscoot is now available in the Uber app
Open the latest version of your app and tap on the nearest moped on the map view.
Create your Cityscoot profile
Take a picture to submit the required documents directly from the app.
Reserve a moped that’s near you
Tap on ‘reserve’ and walk to the reserved moped’s location. Reservations allow you to hold your moped for 10 minutes. Once you're next to your moped, open the app to start your ride!
Parking
When ending your Cityscoot trip, please make sure to park within the Cityscoot zone marked on the in-app map. You won't be able to end your trip outside of the Cityscoot zone.
Your safety first and foremost
Wearing a moped helmet and CE standard gloves is required. You will find a helmet with reflective lights under the moped’s seat. Discounted gloves can be found here. Plus, when riding Cityscoot, you are covered by a comprehensive insurance plan from Allianz

- Where and when can I ride a Cityscoot Moped?
According to local regulations you must ride on the road with cars, but not in the fast lane. Bike paths are reserved for bicycles and kick scooters only.
During your rental, you may ride and stop temporarily wherever you wish, either within or outside the Cityscoot zone.
You can however only park the vehicles inside the Cityscoot zone. More details about parking in the 'Where should I park?' section below.
The Cityscoot option is available in Paris only and is available 24/7.
- How fast can these vehicles go?
Down Small They can go as fast as 45km/h, ~28miles/hour.
- Where should I park?
Down Small Trips can only be ended inside the Cityscoot zone.
In Paris, you can park in two-wheel and electric vehicle parking spots inside the Cityscoot geofence. Be careful to park perpendicular to the sidewalk. Parking is free, as long as it’s in an allowed location.
- How much does it cost?
Down Small The price per minute is 0.34€ with no unlock fees. The Cityscoot minute packs are not available on Uber.
- What are the requirements to start riding?
Down Small You must be 18 years old or older and authorized to drive a 50cc equivalent e-moped.
If you were born before 01/01/1988, you do not need any specific license. If you are born after this date, you must hold a valid French driving license or a valid type A, A1, A2, B or BSR (AM license).
- What equipment do I need to ride?
Down Small When riding Cityscoot or any other moped, wear snugly-fitting gloves, we also recommend you wear a thick jacket (ideally made for motorcycling) and closed shoes.
- Can I ride with a passenger?
Down Small The moped is certified for the transport of one passenger. Due to the increased risk of accident in the event of transporting an additional passenger, a penalty of 5000€ will be applicable to the moped driver, responsible for any physical injury affecting his passenger.
