- 1. What is Uber Reserve?
You can book a ride through the Uber app up to 30 days in advance with Reserve. Take the stress out of airport travel, your work commute, or rides to important occasions. It’s easier than ever to plan your rides ahead with Uber Reserve.
- 2. How to book a Reserve trip?
Steps to make your reservation:
- Select ‘Reserve’ in the ‘Services’ tab, or tap the clock icon next to the destination box to enter the Reserve page.
- Enter your reservation time, pickup, and dropoff points.
- Once completed, you can check the available ride options and their estimated fares, and make reservations.
Once the reservation is made, check out the Activity tab for trip details or cancellation. You will receive your driver-partner details once the Reserve trip is accepted by a driver-partner.
Uber doesn’t guarantee a driver-partner will accept your Reserve ride request. Please check the Activity tab for the trip confirmation status.
- 3. What makes Reserve special?
- Upfront Driver Matching: When possible, a driver-partner will be matched to your ride request prior to the pickup time, rather than right before the ride starts.
- Arrive Early & Wait: Driver-partners are recommended to arrive several minutes before your departure time. Your reservation fee includes a 10-minute wait time.
- No surge, no surprises: You’ll be able to see the estimated trip fare when you book a Reserve trip. Fares will not vary due to surge or actual demand and supply conditions when the trip starts.
- 4. What are the ride options for Reserve?
Reserve is available on UberX, UberXL, Comfort, Assist, Uber Pet, and Uber Taxi (except meter-pricing) to cater your needs.
- 5. Does Reserve have an additional fee?
All Reserve trips include a minimum fare and an additional reservation fee, which the amount varies by the ride option you picked.

When booking a Reserve trip, the estimated trip fare shown has already included the minimum fare, reservation fee and other surcharges (e.g. tunnel tolls).
Notes:
- The estimated trip fare is adjusted according to the new pricing structure on 9 January 2023. The tables above reflect the latest fare structure.
- The above changes to the price structure do not apply to Uber Taxi (meter-pricing).
- Peak hours and weekends are:
Monday to Friday (including public holidays), 7am to 10am;
Monday to Friday (including public holidays), 4pm to 8pm; and
full day on Saturdays and Sundays. - 1An additional HK$20 surcharge for all Uber Pet trips remains applicable.
- Except for Uber Taxi (meter- pricing), an additional HK$16 surcharge is applicable to all Uber Taxi trips with Car Park 1 as pick up point at the Hong Kong International Airport (parking fee).
- All currencies are in Hong Kong Dollars.
- 6. Can I cancel an Uber Reserve ride?
You can cancel an Uber Reserve request at no charge up to 60 minutes before the start of the ride.
However, you will be charged the applicable minimum fare (refer to Q5 above) as a cancellation fee if the request is cancelled within 60 minutes from the scheduled start time.
- 7. How do I cancel a Reserve ride?
- Open the Uber app and tap the Activity tab.
- Select your reserved trip from the Activity tab, then click Cancel.
- 8. What if my driver-partner does not arrive at the pickup point on time?
If the driver-partner does not arrive at the pickup location at the scheduled time (e.g. late arrival or no-show), you can try to contact the driver-partner through a phone call or text in App or choose to cancel the trip at no charge. You may contact Uber through the app for further support.
In addition, you can book a trip on the spot following the usual steps to have another driver-partner pick you up.
- 9. What if I can’t arrive at the pickup point on time?
Don’t worry – the Reserve trip fare has included 10 minutes of wait time, so be ready when you are.
