- 1. What is Uber Reserve?
You can book a ride through the Uber app up to 90 days in advance with Reserve. Take the stress out of airport travel, your work commute, or rides to important occasions. It’s easier than ever to plan your rides ahead with Uber Reserve.
- 2. How to book a Reserve trip?
Down Small Steps to make your reservation:
- Select ‘Reserve’ in the ‘Services’ tab, or tap the clock icon next to the destination box to enter the Reserve page.
- Enter your reservation time, pickup, and dropoff points.
- Once completed, you can check the available ride options and their estimated fares, and make reservations.
Once the reservation is made, check out the Activity tab for trip details or cancellation. You will receive your driver-partner details once the Reserve trip is accepted by a driver-partner.
Uber doesn’t guarantee a driver-partner will accept your Reserve ride request. Please check the Activity tab for the trip confirmation status.
- 3. What makes Reserve special?
Down Small - Upfront Driver Matching: When possible, a driver-partner will be matched to your ride request prior to the pickup time, rather than right before the ride starts.
- Arrive Early & Wait: Driver-partners are recommended to arrive several minutes before your departure time. Your reservation fee includes a 5-minute wait time (excluding Black) or 15-minute wait time (for Black only).
- No surge, no surprises: You’ll be able to see the estimated trip fare when you book a Reserve trip. Fares will normally not vary due to surge or actual demand and supply conditions when the trip starts. Fares will be adjusted if the trip is changed substantially or due to traffic conditions then.
- Backup plan function (applicable to Black and Comfort): When you book a Black trip with Uber Reserve, you may choose to toggle the “backup plan” on/off. When the backup plan is on for a trip, if Black is not available several minutes before your departure time, the system will try to match you with Comfort or UberX. Prices and wait times of those trip types will apply.
- If you match with Comfort or UberX, the price of such backup trip option will apply. The estimated fares of these trip options were displayed when you booked the Reserve trip.
- If you match with Comfort or UberX, the waiting time will be 5 minutes.
- You can cancel an Uber Reserve request at no charge if no driver accepts the trip request. However, you will be charged the cancellation fee if a driver is matched and the request is canceled within 60 minutes preceding the scheduled start time. The cancellation fee of the matched backup trip option will apply.
- This option is also available for Comfort. When this function is on, similarly, if Comfort is not available, the system will try to match you with an UberX ride.
- 4. What are the ride options for Reserve?
Down Small Reserve is available on UberX, UberXL, UberXXL, Comfort, Assist, Uber Pet, Taxi, NT Taxi and Black trip options to cater your needs.
- 5. Does Reserve have an additional fee?
Down Small All Reserve trips include a Minimum Fare and a Reservation Fee*, the amounts of which vary by the ride option you pick.
When booking a Reserve trip, the estimated trip fare shown has already included the Minimum Fare, Reservation Fee and other surcharges (e.g. tunnel tolls).

*The Reservation Fee and the Minimum Fare may vary depending on the location of the pickup address, and/or the day and time of your trip. Please refer to the breakdown of fare estimation in the app for the amount of Reservation Fee and Minimum fare.
- 6. Can I cancel an Uber Reserve ride?
Down Small You can cancel an Uber Reserve request at no charge up to 60 minutes before the start of the ride.
However, you will be charged the cancellation fee (refer to the table below) if the request is canceled within 60 minutes preceding the scheduled start time.
- 7. How do I cancel a Reserve ride?
Down Small - Open the Uber app and tap the Activity tab.
- Select your reserved trip from the Activity tab, then click Cancel.
- 8. What if my driver-partner does not arrive at the pickup point on time?
Down Small If the driver-partner does not arrive at the pickup location at the scheduled time (e.g. late arrival or no-show), you can try to contact the driver-partner through a phone call or text in app or choose to cancel the trip at no charge. You may contact Uber through the app for further support.
In addition, you can book a trip on the spot following the usual steps to have another driver-partner pick you up.
- 9. What if I can’t arrive at the pickup point on time?
Down Small Don’t worry - the Reserve estimated trip fare has included 5 minutes (for non-Black trips) or 15 minutes (for Black trips) of waiting time, so be ready when you are.
