13th May 2021 – As indoor dining reopens in England on 17 May, Uber and OpenTable have teamed up to help support diners, restaurants and the hospitality sector across England.

OpenTable has curated a bespoke list of restaurants to take a trip to, with high diner ratings and availability for May***, in 10 cities including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Brighton and Bristol. Reservations for 17th May are up 71%** across the UK when compared to the same day in 2019, showing just how keen diners are to get back to indoor dining. As part of the partnership, Uber will cover 50% of the cost of a trip, up to £6, to the first 20,000 riders or when the offer ends on 30 May, helping diners travel safely to their long awaited restaurant reservations.

To participate in the promotion, users should enter the code DiningIsBack into the wallet section of their Uber app before booking a trip. As indoor dining reopens, riders are encouraged to always make their dining reservation with OpenTable ahead of arriving at the restaurant, cafe or pub, to secure their seat at the table.

Ash Kebriti, UK General Manager, Uber, said: “As indoor dining reopens across the country, we want to help restaurants and eateries who’ve struggled during lockdown get back on their feet. This is why we have teamed up with OpenTable to play our role as people return to their favourite restaurants.”

Lucy Taylor, VP, EMEA, OpenTable said: “We know how much people have missed dining out since restaurants have been closed, and we cannot wait to help them find the right dining experience for them as restaurants reopen their indoor spaces. We are excited to showcase the great restaurants on OpenTable and partner with Uber who will offer diners a 50% discount on their trips, helping them travel safely to their reservations.”
