During August, Edinburgh is packed with people, all hankering after a place in the audience of the Fringe’s top-rated show…and for a ride with Uber.
With so many extra people in the city, demand for rides is much higher than normal. Add in plenty of road closures and you’re left with less than ideal travel conditions, which is why we’ve pulled together this short, simple guide to help make riding with Uber as smooth as possible this festival season.
Easier pick-ups
With road closures all over the city, the Uber app will automatically direct you to the easiest pick-up location for you and your driver.
Know before you go
The Uber app will show you a fare estimate before you book. With thousands more people in the city, fares may go up when demand outstrips the number of available cars, but you’ll always be notified if fares are higher than usual. If you’re not in a rush, then check back later – fares return to normal when there are enough cars in the area.
Split the fare
Traveling with your friends? Use fare split to divide the cost between you – it’s cashless and maths-less.
Double-check your driver
Be sure you’ve got the correct ride before it arrives by checking the photo of your driver and the car details we provide in the Uber app.
Left something behind?
No worries. Contact your driver directly in the Uber app to track down your lost items or hit ‘HELP’ to get in touch with our dedicated support team.
Wherever you’re going, whoever you’re watching, we’ll be here to help you get there.
