PowerUp: Real Stories from Drivers Who Made the EV Switch

As more and more drivers are making the switch to electric, we’ve gathered 2 of their stories to share the impact these new EVs have had for them.

Aimar hadn’t  considered an EV before, but the PowerUp Package made it an accessible choice. Previously driving a Toyota Prius, now Aimar drives a Kia E-Niro, a favourite among  private hire drivers. Aimar says that the E-Niro is “Very nice, smooth and comfortable to drive”. His EV is not only smooth to drive but also cost-effective, especially with nearby charging options that fit perfectly into his routine alongside getting £750 in charging credits with bp pulse.

Augustine previously undecided about switching to an EV, was encouraged by Uber’s PowerUp Package. He chose a Tesla Model Y, switching from a Toyota Prius based on a fellow Uber driver’s recommendation and also taking one for a test drive. “Every passenger loves it, and so do I,” Augustine says.  Added comfort, coupled with savings and no “headaches from no congestion zone charges”. “I love everything”  Augustine states when it comes to his new EV.

Making the switch to an EV comes with a learning curve, from getting used to driving an EV to managing your charging needs. However, drivers are finding it a worthwhile switch, mentioning better fuel efficiency, lower operating costs, and positive rider feedback as key benefits.
