After you sign up to deliver with Uber Eats, you’ll need to complete the three steps below to start making deliveries::
- Upload your documents
- Submit your background check
- Visit a Post Office to verify your documents
1. Upload your documents
To upload documents, use your Driver app or sign in to partners.uber.com to visit your partner dashboard. Please note that it may take up to 48 hours for your documents to be reviewed.
Follow these tips when uploading your documents::
- Document must be valid (not expired)
- Full document must be visible (not cropped with all data points visible)
- Document must be in colour and be legible (no blurriness or glare)
- High quality scan or photo of the original document (copies, even certified won’t be accepted)
- Safety features must be visible (e.g. watermarks or holograms)
Required documents
Certificate of Motor Insurance (only applicable if you are driving a motorised vehicle)*
Please upload an image of your Certificate of Motor Insurance that covers you for food delivery. (Note: we do not accept a Schedule of Motor Insurance, or Policy Schedule)
- Information on the document must be clearly legible with all borders, information and logos visible;
- The name on the document must match the name on your driver’s licence;
- If your name is not on the document, please upload a picture of the Certificate of Insurance and the Permissions Letter in the same image;
- Your insurance must cover you for food delivery (please check with your provider);
- There should be NO express exclusions of cover for commercial hire and reward or delivery activity;
- The document must be current, and not expired.
Front of driver’s licence (or other photo ID if you are not driving a motorised vehicle)
Please upload an original colour image of the front of your current plastic Driver License (EU or UK Driver Licences). If you’ll be using a bicycle you can upload your Passport from any country or other EU/UK ID.
Please ensure:
- All corners of the document are visible;
- We can see a picture of you;
- The name and address of the document match that of other documents uploaded;
- All information is readable and the image is not blurry.
Images with fingers covering the document or glare in the picture will not be accepted.
Back of driver’s licence (or CBT certificate)*
Please upload an original colour image of the back of your current plastic Driver’s License.
Please ensure:
- All information is readable and the image is not blurry
- All corners of the document are visible
- All information matches that of the front of the document.
Please note that if the front of your Driver’s License is not approved, we will not be able to accept this photo as we cannot confirm the information matches.
Bank Statement
Please upload a photo or a screenshot of your bank statement from the bank account that will be used to receive payments from Uber. If you fail to do so, your payments may be affected.
IMPORTANT: Make sure the name matches the name on your identification document on file, and the account number matches the bank account into which you wish to receive your Uber payment
In this document, we need to see:
- Your name;
- Your address;
- Issue date (or Transaction date if it’s a printed version);
- Sort code & Account number (IBAN number if you’re in Ireland);
Pictures of bank cards, letters from the bank or any other documents that do not show all the information above will not be accepted. Documents should not be older than 3 months to be accepted. Please allow a space of 8 days for the review to be completed.
2. Submit your Background check application
After your Profile Picture, Proof of ID, Bank Statement and Certificate of Motor Insurance (if you’re driving a motorised vehicle) are approved by Uber, we’ll send you a link to start your Background Check with our partner Sterling. Please note that this message can take up to 48 hours to be sent.
To avoid delays, make sure you have the correct documents, complete each step of the background check and follow the instructions sent to you via email.
The process is slightly different for couriers delivering in England, Wales or Northern Ireland to the process for couriers delivering in Scotland or Ireland.
If you are delivering in England, Wales or Northern Ireland 🏴 🏴
- Create an account with Sterling by clicking on Start the Background Check link you received via email.
- Add your personal details and upload a photo of your right to work documents on the Sterling Hub. Please make sure to submit your application with the information as shown in your documents (e.g. Legal name and Date of Birth). Sterling also requires a proof of address and you can upload a Bank Statement dated within the last 3 months.
- Please make sure that you complete the process through to the end, until you see the message “Thank you! Your information has been submitted”
- Sterling will send you an email with a barcode and instructions (don’t forget to check your Junk or Spam folder).

If you are delivering in Scotland or Ireland 🏴 🇮🇪
- Create an account with Sterling by clicking on ‘Start the Background Check’ link you received via email.
- Add your personal details and upload a photo of your right to work documents on the Sterling Hub. Please make sure to submit your application with the information as shown in your documents (e.g. Legal name and Date of Birth). Sterling also requires a proof of address and you can upload a Bank Statement dated within the last 3 months.
- Please make sure that you complete the process through to the end, until you see the message “Thank you! Your information has been submitted”
3. Visit a Post Office to verify your documents (applicable only to select geographies in England, Wales or Northern Ireland)
Find a participating Post Office by clicking this link and selecting ‘CRB & ID Verification Service’ from the ‘Service Required’ field. Bring to the Post Office with you the barcode sent by Sterling (in your mobile phone or printed) and the original version of the documents listed in the email.
You may be required to pay a service fee at the branch.
All done!
Once these steps are complete, all you need to do is wait. We’ll be in touch once we have the results and when your account is ready to go online. This process in its entirety can take up to 30 days to complete and our Support team is here to help if you have any questions. .
FAQ’s
All my documents have been approved more than 48 hours ago but I haven’t received a link to start my Background check, what should I do?
Once you’ve uploaded all your documents, you should receive the Background check link in 48 hours after they are approved. If you have not received the link, please contact support.
I uploaded my bank account information last week and I still haven’t been verified. What should I do?
Please allow up to 8 days for bank account information checks to be completed.
