  • Take photos of the following documents and upload them to your account:

    • Driver's licence: 21+ years old, Class 1, 2, or 4 (restricted or unrestricted) licences are accepted. Class 5 is not accepted. Make sure to avoid using flash so that your information is clear and readable. If you're uploading an interim licence, please include a government-issued photo ID (e.g. BC services card, passport) in the same photo to verify your identity.
    • Owner's Certificate of Insurance and Vehicle Registration: Vehicle must be 9 years or newer and must have 4 doors and 5 seats. The vehicle cannot be rebuilt or salvaged. Please be sure to include all 4 corners of the full document (including the top half, Owner's Certificate of Insurance and Vehicle Licence, and the bottom half, Vehicle Registration). When taking the picture, ensure that it is not blurry and that the licence plate number and VIN on the insurance is clearly legible.

      • If you are uploading a work permit extension letter, upload the extension letter and your work permit in the same photo
      • If you are waiting for your renewed PR card, upload a photo of your current PR card and PR card extension letter
  • British Columbian drivers need a valid Class 1, 2, or 4 licence in order to drive with Uber. To receive a Class 4 licence, you must pass a knowledge test, a road test, and a medical exam.

  • Once your driver's licence and profile picture has been uploaded and approved, you'll receive an email from Triton, our trusted background screening partner. The email will contain a link to your free online background screening. The screening will take 5 – 10 business days to process and your results will be automatically uploaded to your profile. If you receive an error with your screening, contact ubersupport@tritoncanada.ca.

Uber stickers

When your vehicle inspection and background screening have been approved, we will mail two Uber stickers to your mailing address.

Display the stickers. One sticker must go on the front passenger window and the other must go on the back windshield. The stickers are removable and only need to be displayed when you're driving with Uber.

Once you become an Uber driver, we will mail you a decal. You should receive it within 7 business days. If you ever need a new decal after you become a driver, you can request a new one be mailed to you.
