Uber Eats: Get Started
To get started in, you will need to have the following documents to deliver with Uber Eats in British Columbia. Take a photo of each of them and upload them to your Uber account.
1. Driver’s licence
- 21 + years old
- British Columbia Class 1-5 Driver’s Licence or equivalent
A driver’s licence is required to deliver with Uber Eats if using a car, but not if delivering using a bike.
2. Proof of work eligibility
Proof of work options include any of the following:
- Residency card
- Birth certificate
- Citizenship card
- Work permit
Proof of work eligibility is required to deliver (car and bike) with Uber Eats. If delivering by bike - the proof of work serves as your photo ID. If your proof of work does not contain a photo, please include a separate photo ID in the same picture.
3. Owner's certificate of insurance and vehicle licence
You are only required to upload the first page.
- Vehicle must be 1997 or newer
- Vehicle must be registered in British Columbia
- Insurance and registration must be in your name
Vehicle registration and insurance is required to deliver with Uber Eats if using a car but not a bike.
If you are using a vehicle to deliver, you need to contact your insurance broker to determine whether you need to make any changes to your automobile insurance in order to deliver with Uber Eats.
It is your responsibility to have appropriate insurance coverage in place.
4. Driving Record
If using a car to deliver with Uber Eats, you will be asked to provide a Driving Record of the last five years of driving from ICBC.
Your Driving Record can be easily downloaded online.
Once you receive your Driving Record, upload it to your Uber account. Once we have reviewed your record, you will be notified if you are eligible to partner with Uber Eats.
What to do once you receive your Driving Record:
- Take a photo of your Driving Record and upload it to your Uber account
- Keep a copy of it in your vehicle while you're driving on the Uber platform
