Getting started

To get started, you'll need to have the following documents to drive or deliver with Uber in British Columbia. Take a photo of each and upload them to your Uber account.

Required documents overview

Your account profile includes personal and vehicle documents, such as photos of your driver's licence and vehicle insurance. Get the details about driving with Uber in your city.

    1. British Columbia driver's licence

    2. Proof of work eligibility

    3. Owner's certificate of insurance and vehicle registration

    1. ICBC Commercial Driving record

    2. Commercial vehicle inspection report

Tips for uploading your documents

Make sure all required details are clearly visible

Ensure that your document contains all required details before uploading. The entire document should be clearly visible.

Upload your driver's licence first

This will speed up the approval process when we need to cross-check your licence with other documents.

Original documents only

We do not accept photocopied documents, so please make sure you only upload original documents.

Required documents

    • 21+ years old
    • Class 1, 2, or 4 (note: the Class 4 restricted licence is the simplest to complete, and it meets BC rideshare requirements)
    • Not accepted: Class 5
    • 21+ years old
    • British Columbia Class 1-5 driver’s licence or equivalent
    • A driver’s licence is required to deliver with Uber Eats if using a car, but not if delivering using a bike
