To drive with Uber in British Columbia, your vehicle must pass a commercial vehicle inspection at a certified vehicle inspection facility and receive a Commercial Vehicle Inspection Report.
Schedule an inspection at Canadian Tire
Uber drivers get a discounted rate of $80 + tax for vehicle inspections at Canadian Tire in Vancouver and Victoria and $99.99 + tax in Kelowna . See the map below for a list of participating locations and call to schedule your appointment.
Important: Check to make sure your mechanic is licenced by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure and can issue a Commercial Vehicle Inspection Report. Please note that Uber does not cover the cost of the inspection or any repairs and maintenance needed to pass an inspection.
Annual vehicle inspections
1. Find the nearest inspection centre
Find your nearest ICBC-approved inspection centre and make an appointment with a mechanic that can provide a Commercial Vehicle Inspection Report.
2. Complete a vehicle inspection
If your vehicle passes the commercial vehicle inspection, the mechanic will give you a Commercial Vehicle Inspection Report.
Note: Uber does not cover the cost of the inspection or any repairs and maintenance needed to pass an inspection.
3. Upload the inspection report
Once you pass your commercial vehicle inspection, upload a clear photo of the report to your Uber account.
Note: Ensure that your Commercial Vehicle Inspection Report is in your vehicle at all times.
