Where to go in Long Beach

Whether you’re in town for a business conference or planning a weekend getaway for the whole family, the LBC has plenty to offer. From a historical tour or ghost hunt on the Art Deco ocean liner, the Queen Mary, to local works of art at the Long Beach Art Museum, there’s a little something for everyone in Long Beach. Here are just a few of the places you’ll want to visit during your stay:

  • Aquarium of the Pacific: Right across from the Long Beach Convention Center, you’ll find the Aquarium of the Pacific. With three permanent exhibits that focus on the habitats of marine life in Southern California, the frigid Northern Pacific, and the Tropical Pacific, you’ll find more than 11,000 animals. It’s a delightful spot to bring the kiddos where they’ll get to interact and touch jellyfish and epaulette sharks up close.
  • Berth 55: If you want to feast like the locals, head over to Berth 55, a fish market and walk-in seafood eatery. Once you’ve arrived at this glorious metal shack at the port of Long Beach, you’ll be able to knock back a few beers while cracking into some succulent, freshly-caught lobsters and crabs, all whilst gazing upon shipping vessels puttering across the water.
  • Outer Limits Tattoo: Outer Limits Tattoo has been open for 88 years, making it the oldest tattoo parlor in the country. Since 1927, many a young sailor has passed through their hallowed doors and has been forever marked by one of their incredible artists. Though you might not be in the market for some new ink, Outer Limits is also a museum that is dedicated to the history of the tattoo and you’ll see flash work from some of the many artists that have worked there over the years.
