Giving to the community in San Francisco in a time of need

The San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) and Mayor London Breed announced on Thursday, March 12, that San Francisco is closing schools to students for three weeks—beginning Monday, March 16 and extending through Friday, May 1.
 
In response to the closure, SFUSD announced that free breakfast and lunch will be available to all children ages 18 and younger beginning Tuesday, March 17, at 18 sites throughout San Francisco County. Breakfast, lunch, fresh fruit, vegetables and milk will be available for pickup from the sites Monday through Friday from 9am-10am PT.
 
Uber is supporting the city and school district by offering a 25% discount (up to $10) for trips taken to or from the pickup locations starting Tuesday, March 17, through Friday, May 1. The code will be available for use Monday through Friday from 8am-12pm PT for any UberX or UberXL trip to or from the pickup location in San Francisco County. To use it, riders enter the promo code “SFUSDMEAL” in the Payment section of the Uber rider app. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
 
In addition to the ride discounts, Uber will also donate $50,000 to the San Francisco Unified School District’s non-profit arm, Spark. The funds will be used to help support the organization’s spring break meal service and increase the number of meals served.

For accounts with multiple valid promo codes, the promo with the highest savings will automatically apply to a rider’s next trip. Offer is non-transferable. Driver earnings will not be affected.
