Summertime is here, and whether you’re heading to the beach or a barbecue, Uber can help you make the most of this time of year. We want all of your rides to be smooth sailing this summer so that the only thing you need to worry about is remembering the sunscreen.
1. Check your ride
Before you or someone you know hops in an Uber, always double check that the driver, the car model, and the license plate match what’s displayed to you in the app. Also, drivers should verify your name, so wait to get going until they confirm. When it all matches, you’re ready to hit the road.
2. Keep your friends in the know
Share your trip status directly with family or friends to make meeting up a breeze. They’ll see where you’re headed and when you’re slated to get there.
3. Start the pool party early
When you request an uberPOOL to share your ride, you can count on it bringing the cost down, while adding only a bit more time to your trip.
4. Stay together, split the fare
Don’t split up your group this summer — request a ride together and split the fare instead. (That means one fewer IOU.)
5. The only thing holding you back should be your seat belt
With your beach bag and towel in tow, it’s easy to get distracted when you’re getting in the car. Don’t forget to buckle up immediately in order to stay safe and secure all ride long.
6. No person (or pair of sunglasses) left behind
Ride with the peace of mind that if you leave an item in the car, it’s super easy to get it back. To report a missing item from the app, go to Help > Report an issue with this trip > I lost an item in the app.
7. Keep your summer spot a secret
You control where you get picked up and dropped off, so if you don’t know your exact location—or don’t want to share it—you don’t have to. Now, you can choose to get picked up or dropped off at your cross streets instead of an exact address.
