We’re excited to announce that Uber is expanding to Newberry and Greenwood on Friday, August 18.
We’ve been working to provide affordable, reliable transportation to everyone, and starting August 18, Uber will be available in more South Carolina cities than ever. Riders in Newberry and Greenwood will be able to open their Uber app and request a ride, and drivers will be able to log on and accept trip requests.
Have friends and family in these new service areas who’ve never used Uber? Share your referral code to give them a free first ride. Plus, after they take their first ride, you’ll get $10 off your next ride. Win-win!
How it works:
- Open the Uber app.
- Tap the menu button in the upper-left corner, then tap Free Rides.
- Tap Send Invites and add as many friends as you’d like, then tap Invite Friends. Send the pre-prepared SMS message.
- Once your friend taps on the URL in the SMS, the promo will be applied to their account.
- After your friend takes his or her first trip, $10 will be added to your account for your next ride.
Note: In new service areas, riders and drivers are learning how the Uber app works, so wait times may be longer than usual.
