Ride Guide: 72 hours in San Antonio

March 26, 2018 / San Antonio

Welcome to San Antonio! Your flight lands at 5pm and you have 72 hours to spend in the River City, home of the San Antonio Spurs and 300 years of rich cultural heritage. Here is a suggested itinerary of rides to take and local favorites to check out to make the most of your time in San Antonio.

Friday

Airport to AirBnB in Southtown (approx $16 uberX *)

Grab your bag and find the rideshare pickup area on the outer lane of the arrivals area at San Antonio International Airport. On your uberX ride to the up-and-coming Southtown neighborhood, you’ll get to see downtown and the Tower of Americas en route.

Dinner in Southtown (walking)

This would be a short walk from the AirBnB. Enjoy the walk along S. Alamo St and see the downtown skyline ahead. Local food critics have consistently voted Rosario’s “Best Mexican Restaurant” in San Antonio and Critics’ Choice for “Best Restaurant to Take Out-of-Town Guests.”

Saturday

Breakfast tacos in Alamo Heights (approx $13 uberX *)

Start the morning right with a plate of breakfast tacos and coffee (iced, if they have it). Head up Broadway through Alamo Heights and find any breakfast spot to start the day.

San Antonio Mission Trail (biking)

Rent a bike and head to the San Antonio Mission Trails. This 8-mile stretch with recreational trails, picnic and seating areas, pedestrian bridges, pavilions and portals to four Spanish colonial missions: Concepción, San José, San Juan and Espada.

Drinks in Downtown (approx $12 UberSELECT *)

Stop by The Esquire for food and cocktails. The Esquire boasts not only the oldest bar on The Riverwalk but also has the longest wooden bar top in Texas at over 100 feet of beer-soaked wood, smoothed by the elbows of countless patrons over the years.

Sunday

Pearl Farmers Market

Before heading back to the airport take some time to enjoy Sunday morning in SA. Pearl Brewery is home to a weekly producer-only Farmers Market on Saturday followed by a Sunday market with a bigger emphasis on artisanal and prepared foods.

We hope you have a great time in San Antonio, and thanks for riding!
