Mardi Gras is right around the corner! Party-goers from near and far will celebrate in New Orleans during several days of festivities, with the largest events kicking off on February 18.
The final days of Mardi Gras — Friday, February 18 through Tuesday, March 1 — are expected to be the busiest days for ride requests. Check out our tips to help you navigate the celebrations with ease!
Parades Schedule
You can get the details on all the top parades by clicking into each date below. View the full schedule and parade routes here.
Navigating Parade Routes
When leaving the parades, road closures may make it difficult for riders and drivers to connect. For a better pickup experience, riders should walk away from the parade route to a safe area where traffic is moving to request a ride.
When parades are running along St. Charles Avenue, Uber recommends walking north to Baronne Street or south to Prytania Street before requesting a ride. When requesting a ride in the French Quarter, be mindful of city-wide road closures that may impact drivers’ ability to navigate around the area.
During parade times, cars will only be able to enter and exit the area on Tchoupitoulas Street.

For Riders
Uber Eats
Uber Eats is in full swing for Mardi Gras. Here are some tips to help make the best of your Uber Eats experience:
- Watch out for parades routes — there will likely be many road closures that can add time to deliveries.
- Peak ordering times are usually during lunch and dinner hours.

How it works for riders
For all of the information you need on requesting a ride, check out the Uber airport page for Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.
Once you’ve gathered all of your luggage and selected your vehicle type, follow the signs to the Ground Transportation Center. It can be found on the first floor of the short-term parking garage. An Uber partner will be waiting for you at the designated parking spot, but if you happen to encounter trouble locating your driver, don’t hesitate to call and coordinate.
Tips

Check your ride
Every time you take a trip with Uber, please make sure you’re getting into the right car with the right driver by matching the license plate, car make and model, and driver photo with what’s provided in your app. Uber trips can only be requested through the app, so never get in a car where the vehicle or driver identity doesn’t match what’s displayed in your app.

Be a courteous rider
Respect your driver and their vehicle—we want Uber to be enjoyable for everyone. Share kindness and respect, and avoid bringing open containers or food with you that can lead to stains and spills. Check out more Uber Community Guidelines.

Share your trip details
Let your krewe know when you’ll arrive by sharing your on-trip details in real time straight from the app.

Check for items before exiting
If you left something behind in the vehicle, you can contact your driver directly by tapping Your Trips in the app menu. Please note that there is a $15 lost item fee for your driver to return it to you.

For a more seamless pickup
Enable location sharing in the app for a more accurate pickup. You’ll know it’s working if you see a blue icon in the bottom-right of the app.

See the price before you ride
Don’t let the cost of a trip rain on your Mardi Gras parade. With upfront pricing, you can enter in your destination address and see the price before you ride.
Know your resources
From the safety toolkit in your app, you can learn more about safety at Uber in one central location and even get emergency assistance by calling 911 with the push of a button.
