Why I Drive – Calvin

We will be showcasing a handful of entrepreneurs, community leaders and some recognizable local faces who are sharing their stories of Uber around the island.

We recently had the chance to catch up with Calvin, a full-time AutoCad detailer, to find out why he drives! See below for his story:

What is your current home town?

Honolulu, Hawaii.

How did you hear about driving with Uber?

I found out about driving with Uber from my friends on Facebook.  I’ve been driving with Uber for about 4 months now!

Can you talk a little bit about how the Uber platform offers flexibility for you and your lifestyle?

I work 7am – 4pm Monday through Friday. Uber gives me the flexibility to work when I  can,  for as long as I want to.  Because it’s so flexible, it allows me the freedom to be online with Uber in between work and my busy life style on my schedule.

What are you doing with your earnings?

Paying bills, and saving up to take my wife on vacation.

Lastly, tell us why you drive.

I love the freedom I have to work when I can,  and make as much or as little as I need.  Meeting different people everyday makes this more enjoyable.   It’s the best business opportunity I have ever had.  Thank you, Uber!
