Since Uber launched in Sacramento in 2013, the greater Sacramento region has been one of the fastest growing markets on the West Coast. In 2015 alone, we added more than 5,000 driver partners to the platform and grew rider trips by 4 times. To support continued growth in the Sacramento region, we are pleased to introduce our new Driver Activation Facility in Elk Grove dedicated to making driving with Uber even easier than before.
On Friday, February 19th, Uber was joined by Assemblymember Jim Cooper, Elk Grove Mayor Gary Davis, and a local driver-partner to celebrate the opening of a dedicated driver activation facility with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Since the facility opened two weeks ago, nearly 100 people a day have visited to begin the on-boarding process with Uber.
“It is my pleasure to welcome Uber to the City of Elk Grove. Uber is expanding and I am happy they chose Elk Grove to invest and provide more economic opportunities to our region.” – Assemblymember Jim Cooper
“Every day, thousands of people all over the region from Roseville to downtown Sacramento to right here in Elk Grove are utilizing Uber’s technology to give rides to those who need it and earning flexible income. With this new facility, more and more people will be able to sign-up to become Uber driver-partners and receive in-person help — making the process even more seamless than before. Elk Grove is proud to be the new home of the first of its kind Uber driver activation facility, and we look forward to seeing Uber’s growth in the community.” – Elk Grove Mayor Gary Davis
Our Driver Activation Facility is a place for driver-partners in the greater Sacramento area to receive best-in-class service and support. The local Uber team is there to help people sign-up to drive or answer questions about the platform, and they can also receive a vehicle inspection on-site by licensed mechanics.
We look forward to serving driver-partners in the Sacramento Valley with this first-of-its-kind facility in the region.
