Introducing Connect2Transit in Marin: An easier way to get around

We’ve partnered with Marin Transit and the Transportation Authority of Marin (TAM) to help people in Marin get around more easily with the Connect2Transit program. New to the Uber app, Marin Connect and the Connect2Transit vouchers enable riders in Marin to enjoy the convenience and reliability of Uber when requesting rides through the transit agency.
How Marin Connect works
- Open the Uber app from 6am to 7pm, Monday through Friday, while within the eligible Connect2Transit zone shown on the map below, and enter your destination.
- Select the Marin Connect option for accessible shared vans operated by Marin Transit.
- Ride to your destination.

Connect to transit stations for subsidized rides
Marin Transit is partnering with the Transportation Authority of Marin to offer subsidized rides to and from eligible transit stations with Marin Connect, Uber WAV, and UberX.

How to access subsidized rides from TAM
- Click on this link to accept the voucher.
- Open the Uber app from 6am to 7pm, Monday through Friday, while within the Connect2Transit zone shown on the map above, and enter your destination. For trips within the Connect2Transit zone that start or end at eligible transit stations, the discount will automatically apply to UberX, Uber WAV, or Marin Connect trips.
- Ride to your destination.

- When is Marin Connect available?
Marin Connect will be available Monday through Friday between 6am and 7pm, from July 1, 2020, until July 1, 2022.
- What types of rides are eligible with Marin Connect?
Down Small Marin Connect provides accessible van rides operated by Marin Transit. Riders can take Marin Connect rides for trips that start and end within the Connect2Transit zone.
- How do I find Marin Connect?
Down Small Open the Uber app between 6am and 7pm, Monday through Friday, while within the eligible Connect2Transit zone shown on the map above, and enter your destination. You’ll see Marin Connect as a ride option in the menu.
- What do I do if I don’t see the Marin Connect option in my app?
Down Small You may not be in the Connect2Transit zone, as shown on the map above, or you might not be accessing the app during an eligible time. Please make sure you’re trying to request an eligible trip.
- How much does a Marin Connect ride cost?
Down Small A Marin Connect ride costs $3 per mile for the general public. For riders who are part of the Marin Access program, run by Marin Transit, rides cost $3 per trip. Riding with an additional rider costs another $1 per trip. You can see the estimated price of your trip in the app before you request a ride.
- Is this a new service?
Down Small In the past, Marin Connect could only be found in the Marin Transit Connect app. Now, Uber has partnered with Marin Transit to bring Marin Connect into the Uber app.
- What vehicles are available with Marin Connect?
Down Small Marin Connect provides rides within the Marin Connect zone through accessible shared vans operated by Marin Transit drivers.
- How much of a discount does TAM offer, and which rides are eligible for the discount?
Down Small For eligible trips, riders pay the first $4, and TAM covers the next $5 on Marin Connect, UberX, or Uber WAV trips. Anything additional is charged to the rider. Tips are not included.
- What transit stations are eligible for discounts from TAM?
Down Small Trips that begin or end at the following transit stations and that take place within the Connect2Transit zone are eligible for discounts from TAM:
