How it works

Get on the road and log in to the Uber Partner app to begin accepting delivery requests.

2. Pick up. Drop off.

Navigation and information is provided in the app to help deliveries run smoothly.

3. Earn money

Track your earnings and get paid weekly.

Legal status

Your options as a courier

As a courier, you can choose between two independent status types. You choose the one that suits you best.

Status: self-employed

Self-employed person registered for VAT

  • You are responsible for complying with all registration procedures.
  • The management of all financial and administrative aspects is your responsibility.
  • You have to make sure you pay social security contributions.
  • No lump-sum expenses, provide proof.

Status: Individual to individual

P2P according to De Croo law

This law allows P2P riders who are part of this type of economy to earn a certain amount without being taxed because this income will not be considered as professional income.

Important! You cannot exceed 7,170 EUR of income in the fiscal year of 2023 for all your activities in the collaborative economy (all sectors combined). Going beyond this leads to a legal requalification as a complementary self-employed person and taxation as such.

Delivery requirements

    • To be at least 18 years old
    • Have an identity card valid in the European Union
    • Driver's license, vehicle registration and insurance must be valid
    • To be at least 18 years old
    • Have an identity card valid in the European Union
    • When you register, choose the bicycle vehicle

How to get started

New to Uber?

  • Sign up to deliver
  • Consent to a safety screening and upload the required documents
  • Once you are notified that you are active, you can begin to accept delivery requests

Already an Uber partner?

  • Open the Uber Partner app and navigate to Account then select Vehicle Options
  • Accept the delivery terms to begin accepting delivery requests
  • Turn delivery on and off as you wish

Register for VAT (if applicable)

It usually takes 2-6 weeks to complete the VAT registration process. This page (linked below) walks you through the basics. To get specific advice about your personal circumstances, you should consult a tax advisor.
