Weekly Update
Uber Ice Cream –
Thousands of New Riders
Last Friday we showed off how efficient the Uber system is all over the world by delivering ice cream in 250+ cities to thousands of customers (including the happy taxi driver above).
We delivered with drones, dog sleds, jet skis and even a scuba diver on the great barrier reef!
We see events like this as a great investment to attract more and more riders to keep all of our driver partners busier.
Thanks to all of those who helped out on the day!

News in the World of Uber
Drones Deliver Ice Cream in Singapore.
Inquisitr reported that Uber delivered ice cream to users in Singapore by drone, noting that “the drones will be restricted to delivering only in the areas near the marina because of strict licenses and permits needed.” The Inquisitr added that Uber offered the ice cream delivery promotion in “252 cities and 57 countries around the world on Friday.”
Australia Finds it’s Uber Hero.
Daily Mail reports that an Uber driver-partner named Xavier has become a hero of the club scene in Melbourne, Australia after Patrick Neff, a drunken customer, requested a ride but accidentally set his pickup address as the location at which he wanted to be dropped off. Xavier, instead of abandoning the trip, went to the correct address and picked up the inebriated rider, earning “a measly $6 for the late-night fare” and Neff’s praises.
