Getting started with UberEATS is easy. But what exactly is UberEATS, and how do food deliveries work?

What is UberEATS?

UberEATS is an app that gives delivery-partners the opportunity to earn a flexible income while delivering great food from high-quality restaurants to consumers throughout their city.

All this is done through the Uber Driver app on your iOS or Android device. The app shows when a delivery request has come through to you, what restaurant the request is from, how to get there, and where to go after the food has been picked up.

Starting on UberEATS?

To start on UberEATS, you’ll need to be 18 years old or above and have a car, motorbike, scooter, or bicycle. The easiest way to get going is to click here and create and profile. Next, choose your transportation option and upload all the necessary documents. The necessary documents are listed below.

For car/motorbike/scooter:

• An Australian open driver’s license
• A passport/birth certificate
• A Third Party Property or Comprehensive insurance
• Vehicle Registration document from your state

For a bicycle:

• A driver’s license/student card/national ID
• A passport/birth certificate
  

Once you’ve uploaded all these documents, we’ll process a background check for you, which usually takes around 3 or more days. We’ll let you know once that’s completed. You will then be sent an email with a link to order an insulated delivery bag, if you’re a bicycle or motorbike/scooter delivery-partner. Once you have that bag, you’re good to go!

If you are completing delivery services driving in a car, it’s a good idea to carry an insulated food delivery bag with you, or you can order one through the link we’ll provide you.

Do I need a delivery bag?

Regardless of what vehicle you’re using to deliver food, it’s a good idea to obtain an insulated food bag. We find that the highest rated delivery-partners use this bag to keep the food at the right temperature while being delivered, resulting in the best eating experience for the consumer.

When and Where to Deliver on UberEATS

You can go online whenever you like! The top delivery-partners have found that lunch and dinner is busier than usual. They have also found that more people want food delivered on weekends or Friday nights. In order to complete the most deliveries, the top delivery-partners suggest trying to position yourself near busy restaurant hubs.

How much and when do I get paid?

Pricing is super simple with UberEATS. A pickup fee will be paid every time you head into a restaurant. For every kilometre you travel between pickup and drop-off, another amount will be applied, and finally you will receive a drop-off fee for every delivery you complete.

Note: Any promotions (for example per-trip or Boost) will not show on a trip summary or in the earnings tab of the app, but in your weekly earnings summary. Click here to read more.
