Uber & Urban List Sydney #uberurbancity
The Urban List is every Sydneysider’s go-to guide to everything worth eating, drinking, buying, and booking in Sydney. If it’s worth going, the Urban List know about it. In a city where something new opens every day, they only tell you about the best of the best. Life is too short for average pizza!
Over the next few week’s we’re putting the Urban List Sydney team in the driver’s seat of @Uber_Sydney for #UBERURBANCITY. We took a moment to get to know our local guides and what they love about their city.
What makes Sydney the best city in Australia?
Beaches that aren’t fake and coffee that makes it a joy to wake up each morning. Having enough restaurants, bars, and cafes to keep me occupied well into your 80’s; and living with the Blue Mountains and Hunter Valley on our doorstep. Oh, and the truffle egg fettuccine at Buon Ricordo. ‘Nuff said.

BARS
Hello, The Chip Off The Old Block in Chippendale. Awesome space, great staff, and makers of the best Old Fashioned in Sydney.
We just love The Lodge Bar in Balmain. Give me a glass of red and a plate of cheeses and we’re as happy as a clam.
Have you met Mr Moustache in Bondi? Go in for the food and stay for the Mezcal. Just clear your schedule the next morning!
CAFES
Shout out to Piato in McMahons Point. Where the chilli crab tagliatelle calls your name from across the bridge.
You can always trust Luxe in Woollahra to feed an avocado on toast addiction.
Marcelle on Macleay in Potts Point is the best of both worlds with their green brekkie bowl.
RESTAURANTS
We adore Pei Modern in the CBD for their eclectic but unbelievably satisfying food offering.
Come at us, Boathouse on Blackwattle Bay! You can never say no to oysters, cocktails and your breathtaking view.
How are ya, Ms G’s in Potts Point? We’re drooling at the mere thought of Jow’s sweet and sour lamb ribs, and the Vietnamese steak tartare.
ATTRACTIONS
It has to be Sydney Fish market. Grab a few plates of delicious yum cha at Fisherman’s Wharf before picking up some seafood for dinner. (Bonus points if you freak out your roomies by letting a giant crab loose in the house).
You can never tire of the Barrenjoey lighthouse walk in Palm Beach. Especially if you can get there early and grab a coffee from The Boathouse.
Simply strolling up and down King Street in Newtown is enough to put a smile on your face. Get your mits on a brewnut from Brewtown.

Your best Uber experience?
I was prepared for a battle on New Years Eve, but I had an incredible driver who fought off the hordes of stumbling Sydneysiders to find me, and get me home before I turned into a pumpkin.
