Prices in Perth are always going up.

Well we do things a little differently at Uber. We’re always looking for ways to deliver lower prices to riders to make Uber an everyday transportation option.

To deliver on that promise, today we’ve dropped uberX fares in Perth by 20%.

uberX from the CBD to Nedlands will now be up to 50% cheaper than a taxi. Use the ‘Fare Split’ feature with 3 friends and this becomes $3.25 each (a bus will cost you $2.90).

As we have seen in many cities, when prices are lowered, demand among riders increases. Increased demand turns into more efficiency for the partner driver, more trips for every hour, and more earnings for every hour on the road.

We are so confident with this new pricing, that we are actually increasing our existing earnings guarantees for our partner drivers. We feel that it is important for partner drivers to have this level of certainty and comfort going into a price change.
