Discover New Rideshare Insurance for Drivers
A new rideshare insurance option, designed just for you
We understand how tough it can be for Uber driver-partners to find an insurance product that suits the way you drive. Standard personal car insurance often doesn’t cover commercial use. If you’re relying on your personal policy to cover your rideshare trips, you could be taking a bigger risk than you think.
The good news is that a new Motor Vehicle Insurance for Rideshare and Private Use is now available in the Uber app. Created by Vero and offered by XCover, it comes with benefits designed especially for driver-partners using the Uber platform.
Key features include:
- One policy, 24/7 protection: One policy that covers you for both your personal life and your time on the Uber app. No Rideshare premium if you don't complete any Uber trips in a given month. Your vehicle stays covered for private use with a fixed monthly Private premium.
- Pay-As-You-Drive Rideshare Premium: Your Uber Rideshare premium is worked out at the end of each month based on the on-trip kilometres driven. This calculation is determined by the driver profile and trip data provided by Uber.
- Additional benefits: Includes access to Vero’s approved repairer network and zero excess windscreen replacement.
Have a look at our Insurance Hub to find more information about a tailored product that can cover you during your personal time and while you're earning on the app.
Please note:
Only trips on the Uber platform are covered. This product doesn’t cover driving on other gig work platforms.
This is currently only available in Australia.
This is an optional insurance product provided by XCover and Vero. You should consider your individual circumstances and decide whether the insurance services and products are right for you.
Did you know? As well as the chance to purchase this tailored insurance product, all driver-partners are covered by a support package that includes insurance, to help cover eligible partners who have an accident while using the Uber Driver app. This is provided at no extra cost to driver-partners.
