Andrei is a graduate student at the University of Toronto doing research on combining classic geometric methods with learning for computer vision. His supervisor is Professor Raquel Urtasun. At the same time, he is working full-time at Uber ATG R&D (also with Raquel) to apply his research to the real-world challenges of self-driving cars. Before coming to UofT, Andrei did his master's at ETH Zurich, writing his thesis on large-scale dense mapping under Professor Andreas Geiger's supervision. Andrei is originally from Brașov, Romania.
