Introducing cash deliveries
Uber Eats is now allowing people to pay for their orders in cash upon delivery. That means you may be receiving cash, making change, and getting your earnings even faster.
Cash icon = cash delivery
You’ll know if you’re making a cash delivery when you see a small cash icon in the app when you are at the delivery point.
Collect cash from customers
When you reach the customer, a screen with the cash amount due will appear. Once the customer pays this amount, you can complete the trip as usual.
Track your cash earnings
After each trip, you’ll see exactly how much cash you can keep. Money owed to Uber and the restaurant will be deducted from your digital earnings. Anything additional will need to be returned to Uber.
Settling your cash balance
One of the ways you can return cash to Uber is by dropping off cash when you are picking up orders at participating restaurants. You’ll be notified of these opportunities in the app. If you do drop off cash, remember to ask the restaurant for the unique 4-digit code to enter into the app. Your balance will automatically update.
Pro Tip: Having change on hand
While we do encourage customers to pay the exact amount, in some cases you will be asked to provide change. We encourage you to carry change with you at all times to help deliveries run smoothly.
