Options for different vehicle types
In New York City there are 4 types of vehicle options you can drive:
- Black SUV
Depending on your vehicle and settings, you can receive more than one type of request while you're logged into your account.
- Model year 2006 or newer unless otherwise stated (Note: Some vehicle models have a higher minimum year requirement). For UberBlack and UberBlack SUV, vehicles must be 2013 or newer for now, but starting January 1, 2020, we’ll enforce a 5-year rolling minimum vehicle year (2015 or newer by 2020).
- 4-door car or minivan
- Seats and seatbelts for at least 4 passengers and a driver
- Good condition with no cosmetic damage
- No commercial branding
