Veterans at Uber

Veterans at Uber is made up of those who have served in their respective country's military forces, those who are still serving, their families and Uber employees who support them. We provide our members a network and a means to organize community outreach programs, to aid veterans during their transition into the workforce, and to be a resource for recruiting top military and military spouse talent.

“The incredible work and mission of Veterans at Uber is why I wanted to be a part of this ERG and officially support them as the exec sponsor. This group is especially close to me as we are very focused on improving employment & long-term professional development outcomes for Veterans and their Partners––and I’m very passionate about moving the numbers and the value the veterans community will drive at Uber. I’m thankful for the partnership and excited to discover ways of making Uber a more diverse and inclusive place to work, advancing growth for our people and our business.”

Accomplishments

Membership

Global outreach is the basis of developing and growing our membership base. Through member surveys and leveraging self identification campaigns we are better able to target ERG programs to meet the needs of Veterans, Military Spouses and our allies.

Recruiting

Through our newly established program developed by our Head of Military and Veteran Programs we are committed to hiring Military, Veterans, and Partners (MVP). Our goals are to:

  • HIRE external talent transitioning from the Armed Forces community or seeking their next opportunity.
  • ACT as an internal consultant and educator, providing opportunity for all lines of business
  • CREATE a red carpet experience through the onboarding and integration programs, making Uber the employer of choice for military, veterans, and partners.

Awareness

By offering high impact learning sessions at Uber we strive to bring relevant topics to our membership and increase awareness about our community and the issues that are relevant and meaningful to our members.
