How it works

1. Call us

Call 0800-GO-UBER (0800-46-8237) from a phone that can accept texts¹ . An Uber team member will help you set up your account, if you don't already have one, and request a ride.

When setting up your account, you'll add a payment method. Don’t worry – you won’t be charged for calling us; we’ll charge your payment method on file after you complete a successful trip. To help keep your personal information safe and secure, make sure to use only this phone number when calling to request a ride.

2. Ride stress-free

You can either call the moment you need a ride or call ahead to request a ride up to 90 days in advance, giving you more certainty so you can relax on the day of your trip.

3. Receive trip details by text

After your phone call, we’ll send you a text with details about your confirmed trip and the driver picking you up, including their name, car type, licence plate number and estimated time of arrival. You’ll also receive a text when your driver arrives at your pick-up location.

4. Your safety is a top priority

Before you get in your ride, check that your driver’s name, licence plate number and car make and model match the details you received by text. Everyone who drives with Uber is screened before their first trip.²

Choose Uber Comfort to be matched with more experienced, top-rated driver-partners who have newer, mid-sized cars. All Uber Comfort Drivers have completed at least 500 trips and maintain a minimum rating of 4.85.

  • The cost of your ride will vary based on a few factors. When you call us, we'll let you know your options and the cost before we confirm your ride.

  • We have team members ready to receive your requests for a ride 24/7.

  • You cannot use the service from a landline phone. You'll need to call from a phone that can receive text messages.

  • We recommend being ready to meet your driver as soon as you call 0800-GO-UBER – it’s that fast.

  • Give us a call back at 0800-GO-UBER.

  • You can either reserve your return trip in advance or call us back on 0800-GO-UBER (between 5 am to 8 pm local time) once you’re ready to leave.

  • You can now prebook a ride with 0800-GO-UBER up to 90 days in advance.

  • Uber is a cashless service. When you call us to request a ride, we’ll help you set up an account and make sure you have a debit or credit card on file with us to pay for your trip.

  • You'll receive information about your driver in a text after requesting your trip. Everyone who drives with Uber is screened before their first trip.²

  • At this time, account holders can only request for themselves through the 0800-GO-UBER service. You must call using the phone number registered with the account. You can still make trip requests for others through the Uber app.

  • At this time, multiple-destination trips are not available through 0800-GO-UBER, but you can request a trip with multiple destinations in the Uber app.
