Download the Uber app from the App Store or Google Play, then create an account with your email address and mobile phone number. A payment method is also needed before you can request a ride.
- What’s the screening process for drivers?
Yes. Every driver-partner passes criminal background screening and driving history checks before they can drive using the Uber app.
- Are cars checked for safety?
All vehicles are required to meet safety and insurance requirements. Driver-partners in New Zealand must provide proof of third party property damage insurance, pass an annual vehicle inspection and meet local regulatory requirements for ridesharing vehicles. Some cities also have additional safety and insurance requirements.
- Can I use Uber without a smartphone?
