Darryn Rozas is a husband and dedicated parent in Phoenix, AZ. He drives with Uber, and helped his wife go to college because of Uber Pro, which we began piloting last November. We’ve heard story after story of drivers like Darryn earning through our one-of-a-kind program, which recognizes them for their commitment and quality. Now, we’re ready to take Uber Pro nationwide and beyond.

Long-Term Opportunity Through Flexible Work

Uber partnered with Arizona State University because we believe drivers shouldn’t have to choose between long-term opportunity and flexible work. That’s why today, we’re rolling out Uber Pro to new U.S. cities nationwide* including San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Austin, Dallas, Baltimore, and many more. 120,000 eligible U.S. drivers** and counting can now receive 100% tuition coverage at Arizona State University toward a four-year degree or non-degree courses in entrepreneurship and English language learning.

Through ASU Online, eligible drivers have access 80+ undergraduate degree programs, in addition to the eight different English language courses personalized to students’ skill level, and a course certificate in entrepreneurship offered through ASU’s Continuing & Professional Education program.

To date, more than 25% of enrolled students through the Uber Pro program at ASU Online are women, and more than 25% of enrollees are family members who have been gifted enrollment by an eligible Uber Pro driver. Of those enrolled, the most popular areas of study continue to be Entrepreneurship, English as a Second Language, and technical degrees like Software Engineering and Information Technology.

Here’s what a few enrollees are saying:

“I might not be living on campus, but Uber Pro is giving me access to a college education and working around my life while I drive, earn, and learn. Thanks to Uber’s partnership with ASU, and my hard work, I’m one step closer to the degree I’ve always wanted.” – Kenn Schmitt, Phoenix

“The opportunity to learn, maintain flexibility, and continue earning through Uber Pro has been a huge boost for my future. I’m on my way to a design degree at ASU Online without having to take on student loans or personal debt, which wouldn’t have been possible without the help of this unique program.” – Emily Kuckelman, Denver

We plan to continue refining and improving Uber Pro together with drivers. And we’re continuing to help them make progress on and off the road with comprehensive rewards like cash back on gas at any station (using the Uber Visa Debit Card), up to 25% off car maintenance, priority support, faster airport pickups at select airports, and free roadside assistance.

In addition, based on the insights we’ve gathered from Uber Pro for drivers, we’re creating a program to reward and recognize Uber Eats delivery partners that will be available in select US cities soon. It’s our way of showing appreciation for those who make all of the delicious deliveries across the country possible.

Supporting Drivers Globally

Uber Pro is also expanding globally. Starting with a pilot in Mexico, we’re rewarding drivers around the world for their commitment and quality through unique program elements tailored by country. This will include more opportunities for educational access that flexibly support long-term goals. We’ll have more to share in the months ahead.
