Tijuana, your secret Ubers have arrived!

Uber has been your safe, reliable and convenient ride around Mexico City, and most recently, Guadalajara, but what about Baja? The time has finally come. We’re excited to announce that the very first Ubers are hitting the streets of Tijuana. As the largest city in Baja California and the most visited border town on the globe, Tijuana’s metro area is growing at an incredibly fast rate.

Tijuana, we’re proud to say…your Uber is arriving now. Whether you’re heading to a meeting, catching a flight at the airport, or simply grabbing a drink on Avenida Revolución, Uber will get you there safely and in style.

Javier Güémez, player for Tijuana’s favorite fútbol club, took a break from the soccer field to kick off Uber Tijuana. The soccer star opened his Uber app and requested a ride to the fine dining plaza that unites some of the best South-of-the-Border flavors, Paseo Chapultepec.

Tijuanans can now enjoy the technology that has already taken off in over 100 cities around the world. Download the app (iPhone, Android, and Blackberry) to request a luxurious, safe, and comfortable ride. In a matter of minutes, a car will arrive curbside ready to take you wherever you need to go. Availability will be limited.

If you’re new to Uber, use the code “UBERTIJUANA” for a free ride (up to 200 pesos). Simply apply the code within the “Promotions” section of your Uber app. You can also sign up and redeem the code here.
