It will make you feel like you are in the most utopic, beautiful and mystic city of the world.
Mexico City holds a lot of contrast, and the best part is that it offers you two completely different and majestic worlds. In Mexico City you will find from the prettiest restaurants, hotels, neighborhoods, museums, universities, business centers and historical spots, to the most colorful changarros, bazares, mercados, local theaters and people.
It’s easier if we just show you a little bit of our amazing city; so we jumped in an Uber and rode around our beautiful city for you to take a look around!
It’s hard to name the Top 5 most awesome things to do in Mexico City but we’ll try to give you the best of the best.
1. Castillo de Chapultepec
It’s an awesome and beautiful castle built in 1785 as a country house during the colonial period. It is filled with tons of history and in the middle of the forest. Told you… it’s a city full of contrast.
2. Museo Frida Kahlo and Coyoacan Zocalo
Also known as La Casa Azul (The Blue House). This was the house of one of the most important and iconic artist in the world’s art history: Frida Kahlo. You can walk around her house, get to know a little bit more about her lifestyle, her love secrets and her passionate and colorful masterpieces. Once you are there, you just need to walk a few blocks to get to Coyoacan’s downtown which is surrounded by mercados, theaters, churches, restaurants and cozy bars.
3. Mexico’s City Metropolitan Cathedral
It’s one of the first buildings that the Spanish colonizers built in Mexico City. Since 1813, it’s standing in the middle of the city next to the biggest and most important ruins of the Aztec culture: Templo Mayor (also a museum!). If you look close enough you can see it’s sinking because it was built over a lake -not far from the Venetian problem–. We hope it takes a lot of time to disappear.
4. Colonia Condesa
This is one of the most beautiful and old neighborhoods in the city. If you are interested in one of the hippest area you need to visit this amazing corner of Mexico. We can guarantee that you will eat great, party hard, find awesome little cafes, art galleries, bars, stores, libraries, parks and maybe some hipsters.
5. Mercado de San Angel
It’s a market that opens only on Saturdays, but is the most fancy market of antiques located in the south of Mexico City. You can find great pieces of art, food and a lot of cool stuff for your house. It is the best familiar and cultural plan for a sunny Saturday J
Hope with this you get a little adventurous and come down to visit us.
