Delivering multiple orders
Picking up multiple orders gives you opportunities to make more money. There are 2 ways to deliver multiple orders: you can either pick up orders from the same restaurant or pick up orders from different restaurants.
How multi-restaurant trips work
1. During your first order pickup, if there's another order at a restaurant nearby, you'll get a notification. Feel free to accept or decline the second order.
2. If you accept the second order, you'll have access to suggested directions to that restaurant location for pickup.
3. Once you've completed your first delivery, you can head to the second delivery location to finish your multi-restaurant trip.
How fares are calculated
As with single orders, your fare is calculated based on multiple factors, including the estimated delivery time, the number of pickup and drop-off locations, traffic conditions, estimated waiting time at the pickup location, order volume, and the number of delivery partners available in the area.
Frequently asked questions
- What if one of my customers cancels?
Orders you have accepted may occasionally be canceled by the restaurant or the customer. If an order is canceled before pickup, please contact Support so we can review the situation and provide appropriate guidance and compensation as needed. If an order is canceled after you have picked it up, you will receive the full delivery fare that was originally shown.
When an order is canceled, it will no longer appear in the app. You may discard any items you are holding. When discarding items, please do so in an appropriate location and in a manner that does not cause inconvenience to others.
- What if I can’t find my first customer and this causes a delay for my second order?
If you are unable to reach the customer, a countdown timer will start in the Uber Driver app. After a certain amount of time has passed, an automated call will be placed to the customer to notify them that the delivery partner is waiting. In some cases, attempting to contact the customer again via an in-app message or phone call may help you complete the delivery more quickly. If the customer does not respond, please follow the steps shown in the app to end the first delivery.
Even if the handoff for the first order takes longer than expected and causes a delay in delivering the second order, you will still be paid for all deliveries.
- Can I opt out of receiving multiple delivery requests on one trip completely?
No, the app currently doesn’t have the functionality to opt you out of receiving multiple delivery requests on one trip. However, you can decline to accept or cancel any delivery request, including another delivery request on the same trip.
