Since the day the first Ubers hit the streets of Delhi in October of last year, we have been overwhelmed with the love Delhi has shown us. From business meetings to nights out on the town, Uber is now a way of life for Delhiites.

With the launch of uberX, we are taking this relationship to the next level. uberX is like our traditional product, UberBLACK, except a little more affordable but just as fast and comfortable.

Our uberX launch kicked off with hometown boy, tadka enthusiast and by far the funniest guy we know, Vir Das, firing up his Uber app. With a car curbside faster than you can say ‘Amit Sahni ki List’, the eggplant aficionado was on his way to his next meeting.

On the other side of town, award-winning RJ, wannabe Bollywood villain and overall man of the people, Khurafati Nitin, was requesting a ride just as he was wrapping up his radio show. Within minutes, a shiny black Nissan Sunny had pulled up with Palash behind the wheels.

So how does Uber work? Taking your first ride with Uber is easy as 1, 2, 3:

1. Download the Uber app for iPhone or Android
2. Set your pick up location, select your car type and request your ride. You can watch your driver come to you in the app and we’ll text you when he’s arrived.
3. Hop in and hop out at your destination. We use GPS to track your trip and email you the receipt right after.
