Delhi, booking a ride for others just got easier!

We’ve all received that one call from our spouse, friend or parent, asking us to come pick them up from somewhere in the city. Or simply yet, they’ve asked us to send them a car.

Uber recognises the inconvenience it puts our riders in when they’re asked to arrange for a ride for someone else. And so, we’ve come out with a feature that will help you request for a ride for your loved ones – without any hassle of having to coordinate with the driver yourself!

HOW IT WORKS:

• Make sure you have the latest version of the Uber Android app
• Select your friend’s pickup location – the app will ask you if the ride is for you or for someone else
• Confirm the ride for ‘someone else’ and pick your friend’s contact information from your contact book
• Select the preferred payment method – “cash” if you want them to pay
• Confirm destination and hit request!

• On confirming the request, your friend will receive an SMS with details of the trip they are taking and the driver’s phone number, so they can contact them and coordinate the pickup directly.

Congratulations! You just booked a ride for someone else and earned some goodwill with them. Enjoy.
