UBER Pricing Change

It has been an exciting first few months for Uber in Chennai! As we continue to grow, we wanted to update you with what we have learned and some resulting changes we are making.

Uber’s goal is always to provide the highest quality and most reliable service at the most affordable prices — to allow riders like yourself to enjoy Uber regularly. When we started in Chennai a few months back, we tested the very limits of these low prices. What became clear from our data and driver feedback is that this pricing structure falls short of what our partner-drivers need to sustain and expand their businesses using Uber.

As we bring more partners onto the Uber platform to help you get a ride more reliably and more quickly, these price adjustments are a necessary step in the operational cycle. As a reminder, Uber only works with professional drivers with fully licensed and insured vehicles so you can feel confident in the safety and quality of your ride.
