Providing reliable options for everyone to be mobile

The power of our technology is only as strong as the people who have access to it. Removing barriers is a priority, so that everyone, no matter their abilities, can move freely.

Building accessibility into our products

The Uber app is designed to provide better options for mobility for as many people as possible, including those who may have a disability or need additional assistance.

WAV

WAV connects riders who have mobility disabilities with drivers in wheelchair-accessible vehicles that are equipped with ramps or lifts. This service is available and expanding in cities across the US. In order to make cities more wheelchair-accessible, WAV technology is being shared with taxi operators around the world.

Assist

Assist matches riders with top-rated drivers who have been trained to assist riders who need a helping hand. The service is available in more than 70 cities around the world.

Screen readers

With VoiceOver for iOS, TalkBack for Android, and wireless Braille display compatibility, the app makes it easier for riders who are blind to get where they’re going. Plus, cashless payment doesn’t require counting out and exchanging cash.
