Terms and Conditions
- This Offer is available only to individuals who (a) are Hong Kong-based members of the Cathay Membership programme, and (b) have linked their Cathay Membership account to their Uber account within the Uber App, and (c) are the cardholders of Standard Chartered Cathay Mastercard / Standard Chartered Cathay Mastercard – Priority Banking / Standard Chartered Cathay Mastercard – Priority Private (each an “Eligible Card”) issued by Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the “Bank”).
- From 1 May 2026 (00:00 GMT+8) to 30 June 2026 (23:59 GMT+8), both dates inclusive (the “Promotion Period”), eligible Uber App users will earn double the usual Asia Miles (“Miles”) rewards for qualifying Uber Taxi trips completed and paid by an Eligible Card as the payment method in the Uber App (the “Offer”). Eligible Uber App users can earn the following Miles:
- 80 Miles in total on each Uber Taxi trip taken to or from the Hong Kong International Airport, and
- 40 Miles in total on each other general Uber Taxi trip.
- The Offer applies only to Uber Taxi trips booked via the Uber App and settled directly in full by an Eligible Card via the Uber App.
- The Offer is only valid to Uber Taxi trips when both the start and finish time of the trip are within the Promotion Period and within Hong Kong.
- Miles under the Offer will be credited to the linked Cathay membership account within 2 to 4 weeks, subject to system processing. Cardholders shall notify Uber if they do not receive the Miles under this Offer by 31 July 2026; otherwise, the Miles under the Offer will be forfeited absolutely. Uber, Asia Miles Limited (“AML”) and the Bank accept no liability whatsoever and shall not be held liable for any compensation.
- If the cardholders have cancelled any related Uber Taxi trip(s) or transaction(s) which had been included in calculating the Offer after receipt of the Miles under this Offer, or the transactions are otherwise cancelled or refunded, Uber and/or AML, and/or the Bank have the sole discretion and the right to forfeit the Miles under this Offer including cancelling or reversing any Miles credited to Eligible Card holder’s Cathay membership account without prior notice.
- Other terms and conditions, including the Uber General Terms of Use and Cathay Uber Taxi Terms and Conditions, apply to this Offer.
- Each Uber App user may only have one Uber App account. If Uber has reasonable grounds to suspect that a user is creating fraudulent accounts or otherwise violating the Uber General Terms of Use and/or the Community Guidelines, Uber may suspend or terminate the Uber App user’s account and/or that Uber App users may lose eligibility to participate in this Offer.
- Any questions related to the trip should be reported via the “Help” section within the Uber App.
- Uber, AML and the Bank reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time and to vary or terminate the Offer without prior notice. A user who continues to take Uber Taxi trips after the update to these Terms and Conditions indicates his/her agreement to be bound by the updated Terms and Conditions.
- In the event of disputes concerning this Offer, the decision of Uber, AML and the Bank shall be final and binding.
- The Eligible Card accounts must be valid and in good financial standing at the time when the Miles under this Offer are credited; otherwise, the Offer will be forfeited without further notice.
- Any fraud and/or abuse committed by any person, as determined by Uber, AML and/or the Bank at their sole discretion, in relation to the Offer will result in the forfeiture of that person’s eligibility to participate in the Offer.
- If there is any discrepancy between the English and the Chinese version of these Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.
*New Cardholders are applicants who do not currently hold and have not cancelled any principal card of Standard Chartered Credit Card or MANHATTAN Credit Card issued by Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited in the past 6 months from the date of approval of their current application for a principal card of the Standard Chartered Credit Cards.
